Face is blank or not updating

The face renders the clock, date and battery natively, but the activity graph is drawn by the Actidial watch app through a complication. If the graph area is empty:

  • Check the app is installed. The watch app (com.actidial.app) must be present before the face can draw curves. Reinstall it if unsure, then re-select the face.
  • Re-select the face so it re-binds to the app: long-press the face → pick Actidial again.
  • Give it a few minutes. The activity complication refreshes on a roughly 5-minute cycle to save battery, so brand-new data isn't instantaneous.
  • Open the app once to make sure setup completed and permissions were granted (see below).

If the curves never appear even though the app is installed, the graph slot may not be assigned:

  • Long-press the face → Edit → tap the graph slot → choose Actidial Activity.
  • The face tries to bind this automatically on first selection, but a manual assignment always works.
  • If the app was updated or reinstalled, re-assign the complication once.

Sensors read zero (steps, calories, heart rate)

Actidial collects activity on the watch itself. Zeros usually mean a permission or first-run issue:

  • Grant Physical activity (activity recognition) so the step counter is readable.
  • Grant Body sensors / Heart rate for the heart-rate readout.
  • Open the app's setup screen once so passive monitoring registers — data starts accumulating after that, not retroactively.
  • After a reboot, open the face or app once so monitoring re-registers.
  • Numbers build up through the day — first thing in the morning everything reads low by design (the curves start at zero each day).

Weather is empty

Weather needs a location fix and a network connection:

  • Grant Location to the app (used only to fetch weather and sunrise/sunset). Location is foreground-only — open the app once so it can take a fix.
  • Check connectivity. The watch needs Wi-Fi or a phone/LTE connection to fetch the forecast.
  • Weather is cached for about 15 minutes, so it won't refetch on every glance.
  • Out of the box Actidial uses Open-Meteo (keyless) — no account needed. If it still shows nothing, confirm location and network, then reopen the app.

Calendar events not showing

Calendar events come from the phone companion, pushed to the watch:

  • Install and open the phone app, and make sure the phone is paired to the watch in Galaxy Wearable / Wear OS.
  • Grant calendar permission on the phone and tap SYNC CALENDAR NOW.
  • Only your next two upcoming events are shown; all-day and cancelled events are skipped.
  • If nothing arrives, confirm the two devices are connected (see sync, below).

Watch ↔ phone sync isn't arriving

Goals, calendar events, reminders and history travel over the Wear Data Layer. If they aren't syncing:

  • Confirm the watch and phone are paired and connected in the Galaxy Wearable / Wear OS app (Bluetooth in range, or both on Wi-Fi).
  • Both must have the same account/pairing — the app uses the same package on watch and phone to link them.
  • Push again from the phone: SAVE → WATCH for goals, SYNC CALENDAR NOW for events.
  • Activity data flows the other way (watch → phone) and appears on the phone's Today/History tabs within a few minutes.
  • If it's still stuck, toggle Bluetooth on the phone, or restart both devices.

Battery expectations

Actidial is built to be light:

  • Activity is gathered with passive monitoring rather than a constant workout session.
  • The activity graph refreshes on a ~5-minute complication cycle, not continuously.
  • Weather is cached ~15 minutes and only refetched when stale.
  • Expect a normal always-on watch-face draw. If drain seems high, check whether another app is holding location or a workout session active, and confirm you're not forcing frequent manual refreshes.

Premium unlock issues

Premium add-ons (reminders, data-collection prompts, AI setup, meals) unlock in the phone app:

  • Each tile shows its tier: Reminders ★ (Premium), Data collection ★★ (Premium+), AI setup ✨ (AI add-on), Meals ★★★ (Premium+++).
  • If a purchased feature is still locked, make sure you're signed into the same store account you bought it with, and reopen the app so entitlements refresh.
  • AI features are opt-in and require accepting the one-time consent screen before the first AI call. If AI setup won't run, re-check consent and your connection.
  • AI insights (scheduled) is a future Premium++ add-on and isn't available yet — it's labelled coming soon.
